Allow 4 hours to dry and cutting the projected nozzles and seal it with FOSROC CONPEXTRA GP2. Make surface smooth with grinding machine after dry.

How To Repair Expansion Joints

There are two ways to repair expansion joints in concrete. The best way to repair them depends on the condition of the joint.

Damaged Expansion Joints

If the top of the expansion joint has cracks and spall marks, then the joint is starting to deteriorate. Whether they cause be from high traffic on the surface, water, or age, here is how to repair them:

1) First, clean out the expansion joint. Make sure it is free of debris, dust, and any other chemical or material that could prevent the repair material from properly adhering.

2) Fill the entire expansion joints, up to the surface and over the damaged areas, with the FS-90 Crack Repair Kit.

3) Allow it to cure completely, about an hour, then re-cut your expansion joints – make them about ¾” deep.

4) Install a backer rod then dispense the JFX-35 Joint Filler over the backer rod and completely fill in the joint.

Normal Expansion Joints

If the top of the expansion joint is fine and you are simply looking to repair the expansion joint (if the expansion joint has a crack within the joint at the bottom, you can use these instructions as well) then you need to do the following:

1) First, clean out the expansion joint. Make sure it is free of debris, dust, and any other chemical or material that could prevent the repair material from properly adhering.

2) Fill in most, but not all, of the expansion j oint with the JFX-35 Joint Filler. If a backer rod was installed, it is okay to fill the joint entirely.

The first coat of Membrane Brush Bond Acrylic reinforced polymer modified elastomeric dual component of 1:2 ratio with a proper roller or Brush ensuring that all surface of the concrete surface is covered.

Leave the first coat to dry. When the first coat is reasonably dry and can accept foot traffic without lifting off the material when stepped on. This would at least be 3 to 4 hours after the first coat application.

Over the first coat of applied Membrane roll or Brush second coat by Membrane of both 3mm thickness. Wait for the second coat Membrane to be dry at least over night or 3 hours minimum.

After dry protective plaster of 12 mm required.

This methods avoids leakage at toilet and bathroom for long-lasting period.
